PennDOT lets $113 million in highway projects in August

August 25, 2010

The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) put out just over $113 million in projects in August bringing the year-to-date letting total to $1.3 billion.

PennDOT bid 46 project in August totaling $113.7 million.  To date, the department has let a total of 654 projects worth $1.345 billion. Despite the recent rejection of tolls on I-80, PennDOT still anticipates hitting their 2010 letting goal of $1.8 billion meaning they would have approximately $500 million in lettings for the remainder of the calendar year. PennDOT, however, has communicated to the industry that they may exceed $1.8 billion in lettings during the 2010 calendar year. PennDOT’s lettings were $2.8 billion in 2009 due to the billion dollars in economic stimulus funds. To view the full report and year comparisons, click the link below.
