PennDOT lets over $300 million in projects in September

October 7, 2010

The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) put out just over $306 million in projects in September bringing the year-to-date letting total to $1.65 billion.  To date, the department has let a total of 733 projects worth $1.650 billion.

Despite the recent rejection of tolls on I-80, PennDOT still anticipates meeting their 2010 letting goal of $1.8 billion.  Given that there are 3 months left in the calendar year, it is likely that the department will let the additional $200 million in lettings to hit the goal.  PennDOT’s lettings were $2.8 billion in 2009 due to the billion dollars in economic stimulus funds.
