PennDOT finishes 2012 with $1.9 billion in total lettings

January 2, 2013

The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) bid slightly over $112 million in projects in December finishing the 2012 year with $1.973 billion in total contract lettings.   PennDOT finished the 2011 calendar year with $1.812 billion in lettings.

PennDOT anticipated its 2012 lettings to be in the $1.8–$2 billion range, up from an initial $1.5 billion forecast.  The upward revision was a result of additional monies realized from project close outs, 2011-12 winter savings and continued savings from an extremely competitive bidding market.

PennDOT’s 2013 letting program forecast is $1.7 billion.  Click here to view a chart of the PennDOT letting history since 1994.
