Leaders consider widening Turnpike between Pittsburgh, Irwin interchanges

Widening the Pennsylvania Turnpike to six lanes from its current four lanes between the Pittsburgh and Irwin interchanges is a big, expensive project – estimated at $300 million.

Driverless van picks up passengers at Philadelphia Navy Yard

History was made at the Philadelphia Navy Yard on Tuesday as a brand-new driverless shuttle began picking up passengers. The all-electric and zero-emission vehicle was added to the shuttle service already at the Navy Yard. Officials at the Navy Yard said it’s the first driverless shuttle ever in the state of Pennsylvania.

Revenue Department releases February collections

In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $235.6 million for the month, $3.4 million above estimate. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund – which include the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues – total $2.0 billion, which is $14.4 million, or 0.7 percent, above estimate.
