April 21, 2010

PA House Speaker Keith R. McCall and G.A. & F.C. Wagman CEO Rich Wagman received the Transportation Advocate of the Year Award during Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon.   The event was held in conjunction with the Transportation Conference held on April 20th in Harrisburg Pa.

Keith R. McCall became the 136th Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on January 6, 2009.  McCall was first elected to the House in 1982 representing the residents of Carbon County.  McCall’s passion for transportation enabled him to ascent to the forefront of many issues.  He served as that Transportation Committee chairman where in that capacity he worked to strengthen the law regarding work zone safety and advocated for increased highway funding.  McCall has spent a lifetime advocating for a well-funded infrastructure for all of Pennsylvania and PHIA honors these efforts with its highest honor–The PHIA Advocate of the Year Award.

Richard E. Wagman is the CEO of G.A. & F.C. Wagman, Inc. located in York County, Pa.  For decades Wagman has been a leader of many industry advocacy efforts.  Rich was named chairman of The Road Information Program (TRIP) in 2009 and is a past chairman of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).  Wagman has testified on behalf of the industry before the United States Senate.  Wagman is perhaps best noted for his dedicated efforts within his company by establishing an award-winning grassroots advocacy program.  Wagman used the program to help carry PHIA’s “Road to Prosperity” publication to over 30 state legislators through personal visits.  Rich has spent a career promoting good, safe and modern highways and PHIA proudly honors him with the PHIA Advocate of the Year Award.
