PennDOT lets $105 million in highway projects in July
The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) began a new state fiscal year by letting just over $105 million in projects in July.
PennDOT bid 43 project in July totaling $105.2 million. To date, the department has let a total of 609 projects worth just over $1.2 billion. Despite the recent rejection of tolls on I-80, PennDOT still anticipates hitting their 2010 letting goal of $1.8 billion meaning they would have approximately $600 million in lettings for the remainder of the calendar year. PennDOT, however, has communicated to the industry that they may exceed $1.8 billion in lettings during the 2010 calendar year. PennDOT’s lettings were $2.8 billion in 2009 due to the billion dollars in economic stimulus funds. To view the full report and year comparisons, click the link below.
