States scramble to plug transportation funding holes
States are scrambling for the money to fill potholes, plow roads, maintain bridges and pay bus drivers as they confront inflation- and tariff-driven cost increases and declining gas tax revenues.
Roundabouts decreased crashes 7% in Pa.
PennDOT said that since the state has prioritized installing roundabouts to improve traffic flow, crashes decreased 7% and crashes with injuries dropped 51 percent.
PennDOT releases 2025 State Rail Plan for public review
PennDOT has announced that the 2025 Pa. State Rail Plan is available for public review and comment through October 24. The State Rail Plan is updated every four years in collaboration with the Federal Railroad Administration, stakeholders and the public.
