Revenue Department releases December 2025 collections
In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $229.9 million for the month, $1.3 million below estimate. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund — which include the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues — total $1.6 billion, which is $3.2 million, or 0.2 percent, below estimate.

PA Turnpike tolls are increasing in 2026, but there is good news
Tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike are rising again in 2026, but the silver lining is that it’s the smallest annual increase set by the Turnpike Commission in the past 12 years. The 4% increase takes effect on Jan. 4 and affects all turnpike users, including passenger and commercial vehicles on the turnpike’s mainline section and its various extensions.
PennDOT to begin construction on I-95 Girard Point Bridge rehab project
PennDOT announced that construction will begin on Jan. 12, on the $261.5 million, two-phase project to rehabilitate the Interstate 95 Girard Point Bridge and nine approach structures in southwest Philadelphia. Once construction starts later this winter, PennDOT will maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction on I-95. To accommodate travelers to the FIFA World Cup and the MLB All-Star game, PennDOT will work to minimize traffic impacts until these events are completed.
