Lawmaker to introduce bill to ban Turnpike collection texts
A state lawmaker announced that she plans to introduce a bill that would ban text notifications from the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Rep. Brenda Pugh (R-120) announced that her Turnpike text notification ban bill aims to fortify privacy protections for drivers by limiting text communications regarding toll-related notifications.
Revenue Department releases May collections
In addition to the General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $289 million for the month, $7.9 million above estimate. Fiscal year-to-date collections for the fund — which include the commonly known gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine and fee revenues — total $2.9 billion, which is $78.5 million, or 2.7% above estimate.
